Laurie's Boiled Dinner

"Having grown up in Maine, my grandmother kept us warm with her boiled dinners on cold winter nights. They were so good, but didn't quite have a broth flavor. I took your Outrageously Good Onion Soup Base, added some bay leaf, paprika, and mixed these with corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, carrots, and turnips. I just put enough water to cover and bring to simmering boil. When the potatoes are tender, the dinner is done. The dinner is so good and filling and even better warmed up." Serves 8 to 12 hungry people.

*Corned Beef Brisket 1/2 lb
*Cabbage 1 head
*Potatoes - quartered 3 lb
*Carrots - sliced thin 1 lb
*Turnips - quartered 1 lb

*O.G. Onion Soup Base in water 2 cups
Bay Leaves 2 small
Paprika 1/4 tsp
Onions - sliced and cubed 1 large
*Parsley 1 tsp

-Mix all ingredients in large cooking pot.
-Simmer on oven under low heat for 30-45 minutes.
-Dinner will be done when all vegetables are tender to the touch.
-For a wonderful aroma, a clove of garlic can be added.
